Word is that BMP Speedway in Billings may not run this year unless a new owner or operator steps forward.
Any new info or update from you folks down in Billings??

I,m not from Billings but the last time I went to a race there it was ran pretty bad. no problems here if that track wont open again. .I feel for all the great racers from the Billings area. And if ya want to go to a great track, Well load up and hit the track at gillette or rapidcity these tracks have higher car counts than Great Falls, Belgrade or billings put togetter.

I assume your from Gillette or down that way. Billings has had some track problems, but car count is good. I hate to see the Billings racers and fans go a year without a track. That always hurts racing...for everyone, including other tracks.
As far as the car count at Montana tracks, I seriously doubt Gillette or Rapid get more racers. Montana tracks generally have 15-20+ cars in every class (streets, supers, mods), including sprints and late model.
Whats the car count on a regular night at Gillette?

Sprintbear, I'm sure several Billings racers will tow to Gillette and maybe Rapid. Gillette is an easier tow for sure. Some guys aren't exactly crazy about running the big half mile at Rapid. Lot of concern about equipment. Cars get torn up pretty bad if ya crash.
Personally, I'm hoping Gillette picks up a sprint date or two on Big Sky Sprints schedule. Late Models too. And it would be sweet if Rapid promoted/coordinated a sprint show with Big Sky Sprints. Looks like Rapid already has it's schedule done though, so I don't know what the new promotor is thinking.

Yes the big half mile is a challenege. But this track has 12 sprint shows and thats alot of seat time for any big sky sprint tour driver, I do agree this promoter could have tryed and probably got a bigsky/blackhills speedway challenge and had one hell of a show. As far as Gillette I dont think Ed has his schedule out yet. I think the big sky sprints are great I just wish the could run other places not just Great falls and belgrade.

Sprintbear, I have no idea if Alan with Big Sky Sprints has talked to Casper or not. I would guess the long tow might be an issue...maybe not. Why don't you e-mail him and ask: snodawgs@live.com
If Billings doesn't run I think you'll see some of the Montana sprinters traveling to other tracks like Gillette, Rapid, Blackfoot, Id, Washington or Edmonton. Just have to see what happens...
BTW, what are the "Thunder in the Hills" Sprint specials at Rapid?

who the hell is alan??? I,m not with Big Sky Sprints I,m just a good fan. I am only suggesting why they dont complete this seasons schedule. I can only give my opinion. Isnt that what a forum is? Do you know what this is? ? |

Sprintbear, sorry for the confusion. My bad. Alan is the guy who rans Big Sky Sprints. I just gave you his e-mail. I didn't know if you had something to do with Casper or Rapid or not. So, I thought if you wanted to contact Big Sky Sprints directly, I'd provide the addy.
Like you I'm just a fan. Long time sprint car fan. And I created this forum. And like you I wished schedules were full of race dates and posted, so I knew what each track was doing.
I appreciate your posts. Keep em up.
I'll e-mail Alan and let him know that Casper might work with him. Have no idea if he'll follow up on it.

seems like alan and shane liebig should know each.. shane is black hills promoter now.. he knows lots of sprint people hope they could work somthing out still talk of gettin more specials together though...

I,v been told Belle Fourche speedway will open this year under B.H.S. former promoter Bill Kester. I,v been told they will run A-Mods Supers and wingless sprints probably 360s.
